Oh my god! It’s...the celebrity-spotting reader-blogger
No report from one of the world’s great motorshows would be complete without a wide-eyed fanboy list of all the famous people he saw there. So bear with me while I try to avoid sounding like Jeremy Hart or Piers Morgan while name-dropping furiously below (I know, it’s impossible, but can’t blame me for trying). Paparazzi pics provided where available. 1) Georg Kacher – spotted outside having a smoke by the entrance on Monday press day, as Team Thonon-les-bains (car4mh, Lokinen, Robby1977) battled their way to meet up with editor Tim. Georg really is larger than life. We didn’t get a chance to say hi, but Robby noted that being part of the international brotherhood of nicotine addicts wasn’t a bad thing if you’re in such illustrious company. Batty, we did not accomplish your dare, for all the reasons I mentioned in the forum and more. 2) Tim Pollard – ok, I’m cheating because we were working for him, but come on, the guy does great work for the website.
A new Citroen C3 will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with the usual facelift of new bumpers and lights and revised engine range. Astonishingly – for the Citroen C3 is a bit bland – it’s much the same car under the skin as the brilliant DS3, but the C3 is the DS3 with the sparkle missing. And it looks like the sparkle of the DS3 will still be missing from the C3 as it gets a mid-life facelift, with nothing much going on except the usual facelift fodder of new bumpers and lights, a tweak or two to the trim and a bit of fiddling with the engine range.
McLaren MP4-12C GT3 made its debut at the Goodwood FoS
We’ve covered just about every car that went up the hillclimb at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. We also managed to send Claire up the hillclimb in the BMW 1M Coupe and let her get up close and personal with the Koenigsegg Agera. So we’ve done the 2011 FoS decent justice.
